Tigers World Cup at the heart of the action

The match against Argentina is just the start of the Tigers World Cup, with a number of events for supporters, including on the evening of the England-Fiji match in the tournament curtain-raiser.Final Whistle in the MET-Rx Stand will be open for supporters to watch the match on the big screens on Friday, September 18 (8pm kick-off) and a dinner featuring former international players and special entertainment is also planned.   All supporters can come together to share in the opening evening of rugby’s biggest event, with Final Whistle bar open for refreshments and food.   Tickets are just £2 – refundable against refreshments – and available online and at the Tigers ticket office.   The Mana Maori team will add to the southern hemisphere flavour of the evening.   Tigers welcomed Mana Maori for the fixture with the Maori All Blacks during 2014, performing their dance for supporters and running workshops to get Junior Tigers Club members involved.   They will return for the Tigers World Cup event in Final Whistle on September 18, bringing their own cultural dance as well as running workshops to allow supporters to take their turn.   Tickets for the dinner event on the evening are £25 adults, £10 juniors for season ticket holders, and £30/£15 for all other supporters.   Book for the Final Whistle or dinner event at the Tigers ticket office or online at www.leicestertigers.com/worldcup.   England 2015 will attract rugby fans from around the world during the next two months and Tigers are opening the doors to all supporters for events around England fixtures and matches being played in the city.   All of England’s fixtures in the pool stages will be shown live on the big screens in the Final Whistle. To assist the club in preparing catering and staffing, entry is £2 which is redeemable against food and refreshments.   The club is also planning events for supporters around the fixtures being hosted in the city.   Join us at our Tigers World Cup fanzone at Welford Road on Sunday, October 4 on the way to the match between Argentina and Tonga, and the Tigers Open Day is on Sunday, October 11 when Argentina face Namibia at Leicester City FC.   The Kings of the North fixtures involving Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks start during the knockout stages of the World Cup, with match tickets on sale now.   The first Welford Road fixture is against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, September 19 and includes the return of Tigers In The Park, a family community event based at the stadium and at Nelson Mandela Park.   For a full calendar of events around Tigers World Cup, click here.
