Tigers season ticket holder Anthony Palmer not only bagged a free season ticket with the TigersLotto, but also met his rugby hero Mathew Tait on the pitch at half-time during Tigers Gallagher Premiership victory over Wasps

Anthony, who has been a season ticket holder for five years and sits in the Holland & Barrett Stand, was invited onto the famous Welford Road pitch with his son Shane to pose for a photo.

He said: “I’m over the moon to be honest. Last year, I won a £100 in the TigersLotto weekly draw as well as a commemorative heritage crown, so to scoop the big prize of a free season ticket is incredible.

“It’ the first time I’ve been out on the pitch and what an incredible view. We are so lucky to have such an incredible stadium – the noise is just deafening!”

This weekend also saw the club honour the retirement of Tigers favourite Mathew Tait after 15 years in professional rugby.

Tait received a standing ovation from the Tigers faithful at half-time as he completed a lap of honour with his two children.

Sharing the pitch with his hero, Anthony who lives in Nuneaton, got the chance to shake Mat’s hand and thank him personally during the celebration.

“Taity is one of my favourite players and it’s sad to hear of his retirement, but he’s given so much to the club. So I couldn’t pass on the chance to shake his hand and say a quick thanks for all his years at the club.”

The TigersLotto season ticket draw is held at every home game, with the winner receiving the cost of their season ticket.

TigersLotto also provides daily chances to win great prizes while knowing your support will also help to develop the Leicester Tigers academy and community work through the Leicester Tigers Foundation.
