The Leicester Tigers back has been named at centre as one of five changes to the team that beat Italy last time out. Clubmate Will Hurrell retains his place on the wing and scrum-half Sam Harrison, who made his Tigers senior debut in the Heineken Cup win over Benetton Treviso this season, has been added to the replacements.
Scrum-half Ben Youngs, who started the win over Italy, is among the players recalled by their Guinness Premiership clubs, alongside Charlie Sharples (Gloucester), Luke Eves (Bristol), Rory Clegg (Newcastle Falcons) and Courtney Lawes (Northampton Saints).
Coach Mark Mapletoft welcomed the chance to build on the 17-0 win against Italy and said: "It's a big opportunity for these players and they have a chance now to make a mark in this tournament. Rob Miller and Greig Tonks were involved with us last year, Dan White's been playing for Leeds, Josh Ovens has made his debut for Bath this season and Tom Homer scored two tries in his first game for London Irish."
Wales lost 18-17 against Scotland last Friday in Perth, while Ireland beat France 9-6 in the night's other game.
