Top four place still in our hands, says Gibson

Jamie Gibson says an Aviva Premiership semi-final is still in Leicester Tigers' own hands despite the disappointment of defeat to Harlequins on Friday.

Tigers are fourth in the table after Friday’s 24-20 reverse at the Twickenham Stoop with two rounds of the regular season remaining.

Richard Cockerill’s men have already secured a place in the inaugural season of the European Rugby Champions Cup and face a trip to Sale Sharks on May 3 and a sell-out home game against Saracens a week later before the knockout rounds.

And Gibson, who scored Tigers’ second try against Quins, says Tigers will use their week without a fixture to freshen things up before the return to action at the AJ Bell Stadium.

“It will be a long and frustrating week not having a game,” says Gibson. “But we will freshen up and be ready to go when we travel to Sale. If we win the next two games, we are in the semis though.”

Tigers’ game against Saracens at Welford Road on Saturday, May 10 (kick-off 3.15pm) is already sold out. A very limited number of VIP hospitality places are still available from the Tigers sales team on 0116 2171 215 or book online by clicking here.

If you are a season ticket holder unable to attend this game, you can offer your place via StubHub, the official Tigers marketplace. And fans searching for tickets can purchase season ticket holder places at StubHub. Click here for details.
