James O'Connor has been selected in the Australia squad for their opening match of the 2025 Rugby Championship.

The experienced #10 is the only change for the side from their final test against the British & Irish Lions.

The Wallabies open their campaign against the Springboks, with South Africa hosting the tournament's curtain raiser this Saturday, September 16 (kick off: 4.10pm BST).

O'Connor possesses a wealth of experience in the test arena, his 64 caps spanning over a decade in the gold jersey.

Having signed for Leicester Tigers over the summer, the fly half was selected in the Wallabies squad for this year's British & Irish Lions tour, although he was unable to build on the three starts he accrued in the Lions previous Australia tour, in 2013.
