Under-20s squad includes three Tigers

Leicester Tigers trio Ryan Bower, Matt Everard and George Ford have been named in the England Under-20 squad for the Junior World Championship tournament in Italy.

Prop Bower, flanker Everard and fly-half Ford were all part of the squad which enjoyed a Six Nations Grand Slam this season and retain their places in a 26-man selection.

Head coach Rob Hunter said: “We had a lot of competition, but a lot of the lads played well throughout the Six Nations and deserve their seat on the plane to Italy.

“This is a very different competition to the Six Nations. There are a lot of games in a relatively short amount of time. The first one against Ireland, when everyone is fresh, will be very tough.”

England face Ireland in Treviso on Friday, June 10 and face Scotland four days later, followed by South Africa in Padova on June 18, with the semi-finals scheduled for June 22 and final on June 26.
