Update | Staff tackle Million Metre Challenge

Leicester Tigers staff are almost halfway towards the One Million Metre Lockdown II Challenge target set by the Matt Hampson Foundation.

Personal trainer Sutty, from the Foundation, issued the challenge to keep beneficiaries, friends and family active while also promoting physical and mental health as the country headed into a second Covid lockdown last week.

Members of the Foundation posted a video on social media last weekend to celebrate their early progress, and Tigers have got moving too, with the team of staff at Welford Road and Oval Park completing 400,000 metres in the opening week with a mixture of walking, running and cycling.

Whatever exercise you do, as long as you can measure the distance, you can join the challenge, and you could help raise much-needed funds with some sponsorship while also assisting your own physical and mental health.

Go for a walk, take the dog out, run or jog, ride a bike, use a rowing machine or a home exerciser, whatever you choose to do, every metre counts towards the target and shows Hambo’s Foundation that you’re supporting them. And with gyms closed during lockdown, the Challenge provides a perfect motivator to stay busy and active.
