The three-man shortlist for the month includes Dan Cole, Sione Kalamafoni and Logovi’i Mulipola.
Tighthead prop Cole played all but 17 minutes of the games during December as part of a strong Tigers front row, while Mulipola returned from injury at the start of the month to produce some of his best form in the Tigers front row. Back-rower Kalamafoni has made the second-highest number of carries in the Aviva Premiership, features high in the number of offloads and is also Tigers’ top tackler this season.
This season’s previous monthly winners of the Lumbers award are Valentino Mapapalangi, Harry Wells, Jonny May and Telusa Veainu.
Supported by High Street jewellers Lumbers and voted for by Tigers supporters, the Player of the Month award recognises the contribution of individual players to the team cause throughout the campaign.
