Voting is now open to find the opening Topps Tiles Try-Umph of the Month from 2022.
We have compiled a shortlist of three Leicester Tigers highlights from league and cup action as we seek to find January’s Topps Tiles Try-Umph of the Month.
Throughout the season, we ask supporters to vote for their top pick in conjunction with club main partners Topps Tiles and every voter is also included in a draw to win a Tigers shirt signed by the winning player who will be revealed on LTTV.
Here is your shortlist for the Topps Tiles Try-Umph of the Month among the highlights from January:
Harry Potter (v Newcastle Falcons, Gallagher Premiership)
Shutting out their Mattioli Woods Welford Road visitors, Tigers claimed the bonus-point try in the last action of the game. After building phases of play in the Falcons 22, with one powerful carry from Joe Heyes, Tigers keep their composure as Freddie Burns spots space out wide and provides the cross-kick for Potter who still has to beat the last two defenders in the right-hand corner.
Hosea Saumaki (v Connacht, Heineken Champions Cup)
From 10 points ahead early on, Tigers were trailing 28-24 with the clock entering its final minute before wing Hosea Saumaki arrived at pace on to a long pass from Dan Kelly and, little room inside the left touchline and two defenders in front of him, dramatically powered over to score the matchwinner and book a place in the last 16 of Europe’s premier club tournament.
Guy Porter (v Sale Sharks, Gallagher Premiership)
Playing on the left wing, and close to the touchline, Porter accelerated into contact as the Sharks defence moved across to cover, but he powered past one tackler and then showed a strong fend to beat a second on his way to the tryline for his sixth score of the season.
