Vote for Lumbers Player of the Month

Voting is now open for the Lumbers Player of the Month.

Forwards Mike Fitzgerald, Graham Kitchener and Valentino Mapapalangi are on the three-man shortlist for the November award.

Fitzgerald made a seamless return to the first-team during November after a lengthy spell out through injury. He made a team-high 18 tackles in the win against Sale Sharks and scored a try against Worcester Warriors in his second game back from injury

Kitchener won seven lineouts against Sale Sharks, the most across the Aviva Premiership in Round 8, and made a team-high 18 tackles in the game. He also won more lineouts than any other player in Aviva Premiership Round 9 with 13 against Worcester Warriors.

Mapapalangi has been growing with each game he has played in a Tigers shirt, and produced one of the moments of the season so far when his offload put over Nick Malouf for the bonus-point try against Sale Sharks.

The Leicester Tigers trio are aiming to follow Jonny May, Harry Wells and Telusa Veainu, who are the three Lumbers Player of the Month award winners so far this season.

Fans can vote now on the Lumbers website at www.lumbers.co.uk/lumbers-player-of-the-month

Voting closes at midday on Thursday, December 21.  The player with the most votes on the Lumbers website will win the award, which will be presented on the Welford Road pitch during half-time of the Aviva Premiership game against Saracens at Welford Road on Christmas Eve.

Supported by High Street jewellers Lumbers and voted for by Tigers supporters, the player of the month award recognises the contributions of individual players to the team cause throughout the campaign.

Last season’s Lumbers Player of the Month winners included England international Ellis Genge, lock forward Harry Wells after his eye-catching performances in the successful Anglo-Welsh Cup campaign and Players’ Player of the Year Adam Thompstone.

Established in 1881, Lumbers jewellers have been at the heart of Leicester for more than 135 years - just like the Tigers - and are the sponsors of the club’s monthly player of the month award.

The Lumbers team offers unparalleled service and knowledge for clients at their new premises in High Street, Leicester, with an extensive range of services including jewellery and watch repairs, valuations and engraving.
