Welford Road will this summer host a sponsored walk in aid of Leicester Hospitals Charity Kidney Care Appeal.

Kidney Care Appeal is an official club charity partner for the 2017/18 season and are staging their biennial walk at the world-famous home of the Leicester Tigers on Sunday, June 3.

The walk is open to anyone who registers. Registration will take place on the day at Welford Road between 10am and 11.30am. The walk starts at midday and measures a mile around the stadium, but a shorter walk is available. The event is wheelchair-friendly.

Organisers are especially encouraging people who have benefited from or are currently undergoing treatment at the Leicester General Hospital.

There will be other activities on the day including a raffle, stalls and live music as children’s entertainment and light refreshments.

The Kidney Care Appeal raises money to improve the care of patients with kidney disease in Leicestershire and Rutland.

The appeal is raising £30,000 to establish haemodialysis facilities for patients on long-term dialysis who are admitted to Glenfield Hospital for specialised treatment of other medical problems.
