Welford Road welcomed eight teams for the Prima Tiger Bowl and Shield events ahead of the European Champions Cup match between Leicester Tigers and Racing 92 on Sunday.

Supported by Prima Solutions of Loughborough, the Prima Tiger Cup is a free-to-enter contact-based fun event open to all clubs at under-10s level (RFU defined).
The event takes part over four festivals covering the Tigers Academy Region and beyond, during which Tigers look to identify clubs who demonstrate the true ethos of the game under event criteria in keeping with the RFU Age Grade Rules and guidelines.
A number of teams are then invited to play at Welford Road, providing a fantastic experience to young and aspiring players.
On Sunday, Welford Road hosted teams representing Lichfield, Newmarket, Shrewsbury and Southwold in the Prima Tiger Bowl, while teams from Bournville, North Walsham, Tamworth and Wymondham played in the Prima Tiger Shield ahead of the Tigers’ match against French champions Racing 92.
Southwold and Bournville have been invited back to play at the Prima Tiger Cup Celebration Day on the day of the first-team fixture against Exeter Chiefs in March.
The second round of games will be held ahead of the Anglo-Welsh fixture against Newport Gwent Dragons on November 12, with another round at Welford Road on the day of the league match against Harlequins on November 20.
Places in the Prima Tiger Cup are limited, to register your interest or for any further enquiries, please email [email protected] or visit www.leicestertigers.com/community/prima_tigers_cup
