Harry Wells has won the Lumbers Player of the Month award for the second time this season.

Wells was announced as the winner of January’s award during half-time of this afternoon’s Aviva Premiership game against Harlequins at Welford Road.

The second-rower finished ahead of team-mates Tatafu Polota-Nau and Jonny May in the supporter vote.

Academy product Wells won August’s award for his performances during the pre-season programme and followed it up in January, a month in which he made his Champions Cup debut for the club.

The other previous winners of the award this season are Valentino Mapapalangi, Jonny May, Dan Cole and Telusa Veainu.

Supported by High Street jewellers Lumbers and voted for by Tigers supporters, the player of the month award recognises the contributions of individual players to the team cause throughout the campaign.

Established in 1881, Lumbers jewellers have been at the heart of Leicester for more than 135 years - just like the Tigers - and are the sponsors of the club’s monthly player of the month award.

The Lumbers team offers unparalleled service and knowledge for clients at their new premises in High Street, Leicester, with an extensive range of services including jewellery and watch repairs, valuations and engraving.
