Williams prepares for Samoa test

Owen Williams is included in the Wales squad for Friday’s match against Samoa after making his Test debut in victory over Tonga last weekend.

Leicester Tigers fly-half Williams is again included among the replacements as Wales prepare to face Samoa at Apia Park.

Ospreys lock Rory Thornton makes his international debut as one of seven changes to the starting line-up which helped defeat Tonga in Eden Park last Friday.

"We've heard throughout the week from local people how much Samoa values Wales as a rugby nation," said coach Robin McBryde.

"Samoa will be smarting from their outing last Friday against the All Blacks. We've got to be braced for a backlash and look to keep building on the good things we showed against Tonga.

“Training has been hard and the players have been extremely focused, knowing they've got one last chance this season to give a good account of themselves for their country."

Kick-off is at 7:30pm local time, 7:30am UK time and will be shown live on BBC Two Wales and online.
