Williams up for Land Rover Discovery award

Leicester Tigers fly-half Owen Williams is included in the shortlist for the Land Rover Discovery of the Season award, Premiership Rugby today confirmed.

Williams, 22, is among six of the brightest young talents in the country included on the shortlist alongside Jamie Elliott (Northampton Saints), George Ford (Bath Rugby), Elliott Stooke (Gloucester Rugby), Billy Vunipola (Saracens) and Anthony Watson (Bath Rugby).
 
The Land Rover Discovery of The Season award recognises the most impressive young players in Aviva Premiership Rugby each season.
 
Previous winners include Leicester Tigers quartet Manu Tuilagi, Ben Youngs, Tom Varndell and Ollie Smith.
 
The winner will have the opportunity to become a Land Rover ambassador for the 2014/15 season.
  
Vereniki Goneva has already been shortlisted for the Aviva Premiership Player of the Season, while Richard Cockerill is among three contenders in the Guinness Director of Rugby category.
 
All of the winners will be announced at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Awards at the London Hilton, Park Lane on May 15.
