Jonny May says Leicester Tigers that while Tigers were not satisfied with their performance against London Irish the win will give them confidence after a tough run of results.

Tigers earned a first win in seven games in all competitions with a 19-15 Aviva Premiership victory over London Irish at Welford Road on Saturday.

May scored his eighth try in the Aviva Premiership so far this season early in the second half. It proved to be a crucial moment in the game and helped him to win the supporters’ vote for the Spire Man of the Match on the club app.

The England winger thanked fans for their votes, and said: “It’s such a tough league, but we got the win. Are we 100 per cent satisfied with that? No we’re not but it gives us something to build from.

“It‘s been a tough run of games, individually and as a team. We needed a win, so let’s take that and hopefully it can be something to hang our hats on and move on from.”
