England Under-20s – with three Leicester Tigers in the squad – got their Six Nations off to a flying start with a 26-20 win over Wales in Llanelli.
Tigers fly-half George Ford and flanker Matt Everard started the game at the Parc y Scarlets, with prop Ryan Bower coming off the bench in the second half.
England recovered from an early 7-0 deficit to lead 26-13 at one stage, with Ford kicking two conversions.
Ford, 17, said: "It's hard coming to Wales but we attacked well in the first half and defended well in the second half.
“We can't be too hard on ourselves, it's a win in Wales and they don't come along too often so we're delighted and very proud.
“We can learn a lot from the game, particularly in the second half when it was backs-against-the-wall rugby. In a way it’s good for us to defend for those long periods.”
