Witness Leicester Tigers history in the making

Figure image
Welford Road, the home of Leicester Tigers, will take on a spectacular new look next week when the 250-tonne, 100-metre roofline of the new Caterpillar Stand is lifted into place.

Two 1,000-tonne cranes will be built on site during Monday and Tuesday next week, and the lift of the King Truss is scheduled to start at 9.30am on Wednesday morning. The lift will take around an hour.

The Crumbie Stand side of the stadium will be open on Wednesday morning for supporters wishing to witness this historic sight. Entrance is via Gate 18 in Aylestone Walk. Hot drinks will be available.

If you are unable to attend, you can still follow the progress via the webcam on the Tigers website.

The club will also be documenting progress for the website and match programme.

The Tigers ticket office will be closed to personal callers during the lift on Wednesday morning but you can still contact the ticket office hotline on 08701 28 34 30 or book online. Tickets for all remaining home games this season are on sale now.
