Ben Youngs has thanked Leicester Tigers fans and the wider rugby family for their messages of support after it was confirmed he sustained a knee injury in England’s NatWest 6 Nations game against Italy.
Youngs was taken from the field on a stretcher after being injured in the early stages of the game in Rome.
He underwent a scan yesterday which showed he had ruptured his MCL in his left knee. He is having further assessment with a surgeon this week but the injury is likely to mean Youngs is out for four months.
Tigers scrum-half Youngs took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to thank people for their support.
He tweeted: “Thanks everyone for your kind messages of support with great people around me I’ll be back to contribute soon enough.”
