Ben Youngs is the leading creator of tries in this season's European Rugby Champions Cup, according to the analysts at Opta.Youngs has had a creative hand in four of Leicester Tigers’ tries in the competition, including the second try for his brother Tom against Scarlets at Welford Road on Friday night.
The latest figures from Opta show that Graham Kitchener has won 22 lineouts, including steals, putting him second on the list. His Tigers teammate Jamie Gibson is also in the top ten with 16 lineouts won in four games.
Julian Salvi is the competition’s second top tackler with 59 completed tackles in the first five pool fixtures. Salvi also features in the top ten of most turnovers won, the back-rower is joint eighth with six turnovers.
Mathew Tait has made more metres in Europe so far this season than any of his teammates. Tait’s 289 metres gained put him eighth in the tournament.
Tom Youngs is Tigers’ leading try-scorer after his brace in the win against Scarlets. Miles Benjamin, Freddie Burns, Jordan Crane, Sam Harrison, Graham Kitchener, Blaine Scully, Adam Thompstone, Brad Thorn and Owen Williams have shared in the responsibility with one try each.
And Williams leads the way as Tigers’ leading point scorer. His 41 points so far put him tenth on the list of the competition's point scorers.
