Ollie Chessum is free to play the final regular season fixture of the Gallagher Premiership after his case was dismissed by an independent disciplinary panel on Tuesday evening.

He was charged with an alleged breach of World Rugby Law 9.13 - dangerous tackling - during Saturday's defeat to Bath Rugby in Round 17 of the 24/25 Gallagher Premiership.

The Leicester Tigers forward will now be available for selection for the clash with Newcastle Falcons at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on Saturday, May 31.

On the outcome, independent disciplinary panel chair Gareth Graham said: "The panel had the benefit of hearing detailed evidence from the player, as well as viewing video footage of the incident and hearing submissions from the parties.

"Taking into account all the circumstances of the case, including the relevant factors set out in the Head Contact Process (HCP), the panel dismissed the citing. The player is free to play with immediate effect."
