Learn more about Leicester Tigers’ links with SMB College Group’s Brooksby Campus and options to combine education and rugby at an Open Day this Saturday.
Based at the 850-acre Brooksby Campus in Melton Mowbray, Tigers and the college have added a girls’ rugby programme to the established boys’ version for intake in September 2022.
The new girls’ programme allows students to choose a course alongside their rugby training, with options including Sport, Sports Science, Uniformed Public Services, Equine Management and Animal Management.
Or students can choose to take an ‘A’ Level route, studying PE, Biology, Business and Psychology at the college group’s Melton Campus, with a shuttle bus provided to Brooksby for training.
Students are coached by Tigers, participate in competitive matches and even potentially progress further with the club as part of its new women’s and girls’ rugby programme.
SMB College Group and Tigers have a well-established boys’ rugby programme with current England squad member George Martin and fellow Tigers Academy graduates Archie Vanes and Sam Edwards among its recent students.
Facilities at the Brooksby Campus include three full-size rugby pitches, full-size sports hall, strength and conditioning gym, and performance analysis equipment. Accommodation is also available on-site in addition to a range of college bus routes and transport links across the county.
