Ollie Chessum will undergo surgery next week on a fracture dislocation of his ankle, suffered during England training in the final week of the 2023 Guinness Six Nations.

The Leicester Tigers forward had featured in all four of England's games of the tournament and was in line for a fifth successive Test away to France in Paris.

England Rugby confirmed the injury on Thursday evening following scans and a consultation with a surgeon.

Chessum is not expected to return to action for the remainder of the 2022/23 club season.
