Dan Cole will make his first appearance of his second tour with the British & Irish Lions against the Blues on Wednesday.

Leicester Tigers tighthead prop Cole sat out the opening game on Saturday as the Lions launched their tour with a 13-7 win over New Zealand Provincial Barbarians but comes into the starting line-up for this week.

Wales hooker Ken Owens captains the side and is one of 11 players making their British & Irish Lions debut at Eden Park after head coach Warren Gatland made 15 changes to the side that kicked off the tour on Saturday.

Gatland said: "We have stated from the off that we want to give every player a start in the first three games and Wednesday is an opportunity for this set of players to show what they can do in a Lions jersey.

"It was good to get the win under our belts last weekend.  The boys in the stand were itching to get their chance and they are really excited about Wednesday.”
