England squad named for Wallabies week

Five Leicester Tigers players have been included in the England squad preparing for the second autumn Test against Australia at Twickenham on Saturday.

Uncapped hooker Nic Dolly and fellow forward George Martin join Ellis Genge, Freddie Steward and Ben Youngs, Tigers the trio who all started England’s win over Tonga last Saturday, in the squad announced by head coach Eddie Jones.

All five were also included for the training week in the build-up to the Tonga fixture before Dolly and Martin were released back to Tigers and played in the win over Bath Rugby on Friday.

England versus Australia at Twickenham Stadium is 5.30pm kick-off on Saturday and live coverage will be shown on big screens in Final Whistle at Tigers following the Premiership Rugby Cup fixture against Sale Sharks. The England game is live on Amazon Prime Sport and TalkSPORT.

Jones has called up 34 players, who met today to begin preparations for the game. All players will remain with England for the whole week to help enhance the COVID resilience of the team’s boundary.

Jones said: “We’d really like to thank everyone in the game who has allowed us to keep the 34 players for the week – the clubs, the PRL and the RPA.  We appreciate their support and it will a big help for us as we prepare for this Test match.”
