Peter Wheeler leads the first list of Leicester Tigers legends who will be attending the club’s ‘125 Years at Welford Road’ Dinner in the new year.
A name synonymous with Leicester Tigers, Wheeler captained and coached the team before becoming the first chief executive and is now a Life Member with an association with the club stretching beyond 45 years.
Wheeler will be joined at the dinner by Les Cusworth, one of the most talented fly-halves in the club’s history, and Graham Rowntree, founder member of the famous ABC Club front row. Former scrum-half Aadel Kardooni, who made more than 200 appearances for the club, is also among the list of former players who will return for the celebration dinner.
The 125 Dinner will give a number of past players an opportunity to share their memories of playing at the iconic Welford Road, while fans can meet and dine with some of the club’s favourite names.
The event is at Welford Road on Tuesday, March 6 and places are booking up fast so make sure you book early – this would make an incredible Christmas gift for the supporter in your family!
Sponsored by vehicle management specialists Total Motion, the evening includes a three-course dinner and Q&A with players past and present. There will also be a silent auction with proceeds going towards the Doddie Weir’5 Discretionary Trust.
Places are available on a first-come-first-served basis at £115 plus VAT per person or a table of 10 with a current Tigers player can be reserved for £1,500 + VAT.
