First call for Youngs and Kitchener

Figure image
The uncapped Tom Youngs and Graham Kitchener are among nine Leicester Tigers players named in the 42-man England squad for this summer's tour to South Africa.

Tigers centre Anthony Allen is recalled and hopes to add to his two previous caps, while the squad also includes clubmates Dan Cole, Toby Flood, Geoff Parling, Manu Tuilagi, Ben Youngs, and Thomas Waldrom.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster said: “There is a real excitement about this squad. We have a massive challenge ahead of us but it is one that everybody is looking forward to.

"While certain players are not available because of inevitable injuries at this time of the season, we have been able to select the bulk of the squad from the RBS 6 Nations and the Saxons, while also taking with us four of the Under-20 team which reached last June’s Junior World Championship final."

Tigers duo Tom Croft and Louis Deacon are among a group of players not considered due to injury.
