Five Tigers stay with England

Five Leicester Tigers players have been retained in the England squad for Saturday's final QBE International against New Zealand at Twickenham.

The 23-man squad report back to the training base at Pennyhill Park this evening to make the final preparations for the weekend.

Dan Cole, Geoff Parling, Tom Youngs and Toby Flood, who were all in the 23 for the win over Argentina last Saturday, are retained and scrum-half Ben Youngs returns after dropping out of the Pumas game with a bruised hip.

Head coach Stuart Lancaster ruled out prop Alex Corbisiero after feeling some discomfort to his knee in training yesterday.

“It is disappointing for Alex, having missed last year’s Six Nations because of an injury to his other knee, and with Mako Vunipola also unavailable, it's a great opportunity for Joe Marler and Matt Mullan, who has been with us all week,” said Lancaster.

Marland Yarde and Christian Wade have not recovered in time to be available for this game and centre Henry Trinder is still recovering from a dead leg.
