Mattioli Woods Welford Road hosts Leicester Tigers Women’s first fixture against outside opposition when Edinburgh University arrive in town on Sunday. Kick-off is at 1.30pm.
Former England international Vicky Macqueen, head of the women’s programme at Tigers, has selected her squad for this historic game and tickets are available for supporters now.
Season ticket holders can book a place for free online or by contacting the Tigers ticket office. Tickets for all other supporters are £5 adults, £2 under-18s with everyone accommodated in the North Stand.
“This is the starting point,” says Macqueen. “This is the first ‘real’ Leicester Tigers women’s game and a fabulous opportunity for the players to come together as a team and experience running out to play at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
“This is a step in looking at players and developing a squad for next season at whatever level we are able to enter the league structure.
“It is a really exciting time for the programme as the starting point on a massive journey to build and inspire a new generation of women playing rugby in our county and our region.”
