Former Leicester Tigers and England forward Louis Deacon will help kick off the new tag rugby sessions in partnership with The Nottingham Building Society in Market Harborough this week.Deacon, who made 274 first-team appearances for Tigers and earned 29 England caps before his retirement last season, is attending a launch at The Nottingham’s branch in High Street, Market Harborough tomorrow (Thursday) at 12.30pm before a special tag rugby session at school in the town.
The tag programme aims to deliver five weeks of tag rugby for Key Stage 2 pupils and will visit primary schools around The Nottingham Building Society branches including Leicester city centre, Market Harborough, Groby, Melton Mowbray and the new Wigston branch which opens at the end of the year.
After the launch, Tigers will be running a free tag rugby session at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and club mascot Welford will be there too, together with the Tigers roadshow vehicle known as The Maul, hosting games and activities including the Tigers Speed Pass Challenge, Tigers Tackle Bag and photo booth.
