Post-Match Chat | Jasper Wiese

Jasper Wiese admitted it was a sombre mood in the away changing room at the AJ Bell Stadium after the away defeat to Sale Sharks in Round 14 of the 21/22 Gallagher Premiership season.

"It's tough to take a loss like that," the Leicester Tigers back-rower told LTTV.

"Sale is a quality side, as soon as you give them an out - or don't get out of your half - you are going to pay for it."

The South African believes the Tigers delivered the effort, but were let down in small moments during the match which added up in the end.

"We put in a good effort ... it's just moments in the game that let them in, where we dipped off," he said.

"Small moments ... but we needed to be more clinical."

Wiese paid tribute to two team-mates making milestone appearances, as well as being pleased to see his good mate Hanro Liebenberg back on the pitch after a length injury lay-off.

"Very, very proud of James Whitcombe," he said.

"Hanro, always good to have him back and Olly Robinson getting his first start as well ... I am proud of all of the boys and the effort they put in tonight."

Tigers now return home to Mattioli Woods Welford Road after a month of away fixtures and the South African believes the measure of the side will be taken in how they respond, next Saturday afternoon against Worcester Warriors.

"It speaks miles of you how you bounce back after a loss, especially a tough one like this, i think it's the most physical team you'll face," Wiese added.

"Bouncing back after that says a lot about your character."
