As a new season of top-flight rugby approaches, Leicester Tigers would like to draw the attention of supporters to some new matchday facilities and procedures at Welford Road.
The addition of the new stand at the Aylestone Road end last season provided new facilities for supporters and allowed the club to update the access control system affecting all turnstiles and entry points, including accessible entrances and corporate areas in the stadium.
Rather than being allocated wristbands or tickets which have to be forwarded with instructions to guests – and recycled if someone is then unable to attend a game – the system allows one central contact in a party to log on to web portal and send an email invitation to their guests. These can then accept and print at home or, if they are unable to attend, they can forward the invitation to someone else.
Supporters should be aware that, since the end of last season, there have been a number of changes to stand naming and branding in line with new sponsorship agreements.
As the club’s new main sponsors, the Holland & Barrett name is transferred from the south to the north stand, the Mattioli Woods Stand is at the Welford Road end and the clubhouse end becomes The Robin Hood Stand to represent the sponsorship of The Nottingham Building Society.
To provide the most flexible entry system possible, all season ticket holders have the option to upload a barcode for each game on to their smart phone.
Matches in the new season will be loaded on to all existing season ticket cards in time for the opening match, against the Ospreys in the final pre-season fixture on Friday (August 26).
Any new season ticket holders and any existing season ticket holders who have relocated seats or changed price category (e.g. Young Adult to Adult, or Adult to 65-plus) will receive new season ticket cards in good time for the new campaign.
If you have changed any of your contact details, please inform the Tigers ticket office so we can update our records and ensure you receive all necessary information in good time.
The clubhouse end now houses the main ticket office and club shop. These facilities are open 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday, while the Store is also open 10.30am-4pm on Sundays and for an hour after the final whistle of all home games.
The ticket office features more space for matchday sales as well as dealing with season ticket sales, advance match tickets and all other ticketing services including Tigers Rugby Camps and supporter events.
Our previous Club Store in the corner of the main stand will now operate as an additional shopping area on matchdays and there are extra sales units within the Holland & Barrett Stand.
All matchday ticket collections are from the unit on the plaza, not from the ticket office.
Tigers have introducing an ‘Early Bird’ match ticket at Welford Road with prices from just £15 adults and £6 juniors. Early Bird seats are in the clubhouse end, with a limited allocation for each home game in league and cups during the new season.
This forms part of the changes to ticket sales policy, with match tickets now released for general sale wherever possible only after kick-off dates and times have been confirmed by the club, tournament organisers and their broadcast partners in blocks throughout the season.
All match tickets can be purchased in person at Welford Road, by phoning the Tigers ticket office on 0116 319 8888 (option 2) and online.
All home games in the Aviva Premiership, Anglo-Welsh Cup and European Champions Cup, plus the pre-season fixture with the Ospreys, are included in Tigers season tickets.
There are a number of other benefits too, including priority booking for any knockout fixtures and away games, the chance to purchase England international tickets, Club Store discount every time you shop, the Buyback Scheme if you are unable to attend a game and the Buddy System which allow you to get the most out of your season ticket. Click here for more details, or call in at Welford Road or phone the ticket office for more information.
Matchday hospitality for all home games is available to book now. Enjoy an extra special day with friends, family, clients or customers at the home of the Leicester Tigers, Click here for more details.
Please note that all turnstiles, including those giving access to the Terrace, will now open 90 minutes ahead of kick-off in all first-team fixtures, not two hours as in previous seasons. The Junior Tigers Club area in Final Whistle, similarly, will be open from 90 minutes before kick-off this week.
A new matchday bus service will be in place for the first home game of the Aviva Premiership season, against Wasps on Saturday, September 10. Look out for further details and full timetable in the weeks leading up to the game.
