Player sponsors at Leicester Tigers enjoyed "a match made in heaven" today after sitting down to lunch with the club's stars.
Companies and individuals who have sponsored Tigers players for this season were guests at Welford Road today, where they watched the Team Run ahead of tomorrow’s Guinness Premiership game with Leeds Carnegie.
The sponsors were then joined for lunch in the European Suite at Welford Road by the first-team squad including club captain Geordan Murphy and vice-captains Louis Deacon and Aaron Mauger.
Julie Preston is general manager at Signature South Lodge care home in London Road, Leicester. Signature sponsor back rower Ben Pienaar, and Julie said: “We are a new business in Leicester of apartments for older people.
“Leicester Tigers are the biggest name and we will be the largest care home in Leicester so it seemed like a match made in heaven.”
Petar Cvetkovic sponsors new signing Lote Tuqiri and chief scout Dusty Hare.
Petar said: “Lote is one of the world’s greatest players and has scored 31 tries for Australia. He is one of the big characters in rugby and is a great talent.
“Dusty is a legend with a capital 'L'. You can sit next to him all day and hang on every word he says.
“It is great to sponsor them and be part of the family atmosphere and family spirit at the club.
