We will respond, says Toomua

Leicester Tigers centre Matt Toomua says the overwhelming feeling among the squad is "frustration" after a home defeat to local rivals Northampton Saints in Round 20 of this season's Aviva Premiership.

"That result was self-inflicted," Toomua said.

"We are a better team than that and will respond accordingly in two weeks."

Asked about what was required to bounce back and continue to strive for the 2017/18 Premiership finals, Toomua said: "The worst thing about that loss is that we have to stew on it for two weeks, but we will respond, we will be better and we will give our fans something to cheer about."

Ahead of kick-off the Australia international was named Lumbers Player of the Month from the month of March, beating out team-mates Graham Kitchener and Sione Kalamafoni for the prize.
