Young rugby players from across the Tigers community region have been taking part in the coveted Prima Tiger Cup in a bid to be invited back to play at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

Thanks to the continued support of Prima Solutions Ltd, one of the club’s longest-serving sponsors, this popular event for under-10s teams kicked off its 28th year at Lichfield RFC on November 7. 

The event then visited Newark RUFC on November 14, Holt RUFC on November 21 and will conclude at Syston RUFC this coming weekend on Sunday, November 28 with 18 clubs involved.

Over the course of the four weeks, 42 clubs across the under-10s age group with boy and girls in mixed teams enjoying the events.

With a focus on encouraging the sport’s core values, aspects such as performance, player behaviour and spectator behaviour all play a role in club’s receiving an invite to then play at the home of Leicester Tigers later in the year. 

Teams invited back will have the chance to play in front of a matchday crowd following the senior teams fixture. Dates include (may change due to fixture announcements)….

February 26 | Tigers v Gloucester 

March 12 | Tigers v London Irish 

April 30 | Tigers v Bristol | Prima Tiger Cup Celebration Day
