School welcomes first tag rugby sessions

Leicester Tigers launched a new tag rugby programme supported by The Nottingham Building Society with a visit to Market Harborough CofE Primary School.As part of a new partnership with The Nottingham, Tigers are driving a programme which aims to deliver five weeks of tag rugby for 2,000 Key Stage 2 pupils with a dedicated rugby development officer and will visit primary schools around the society's branches, including Leicester, Market Harborough, Groby, Melton Mowbray and the new Wigston branch which opens at the end of the year.   Market Harborough Primary were the first to welcome the tag rugby team, and club mascot Welford also met staff and pupils.   The club launched the new link at Tigers In The Park ahead of the home game against Newcastle Falcons 10 days ago. The Nottingham, which has become a partner of the Junior Tigers Club, introduced their mascots Robin Hood and Marian, to supporters as well as distributing goody bags and appearing on the Welford Road at half-time.   David Marlow, chief executive of The Nottingham, joined Tigers chief executive Simon Cohen for a commemorative photograph.   The Nottingham is an award-winning regional building society operating across the UK with branches throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire and following the acquisition in January 2013 of estate agents Harrison Murray it also operates in Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.   After visiting Market Harborough last Friday, Tigers mascot Welford is enjoying an opportunity this week to visit different venues in the region as part of the Tigers World Cup and there are some great giveaways available.
