The Leicester Tigers Supporters Forum met this week at Welford Road for its penultimate meeting of the 2017/18 season.

Following the recent Open Training Session, 125 Year Dinner and an Open Supporters Forum, there was a lot of positive feedback from the forum on the club’s commitment to hosting similar events for supporters.

The club also shared plans for the final two scheduled home matchdays of the season, against Northampton Saints on Saturday, April 14 (3.00pm) and Newcastle Falcons (Friday, April 27, 7.45pm) with a focus on family activities and celebrating the Tigers heritage.

Welford Road hosts the annual Junior Tigers Club Takeover Day for the Derby Day game against Saints, giving young fans the chance to take on matchday roles behind the scenes. For the final home match of the season, against Falcons, supporters will be asked to get involved with some special 125-year celebrations as a send-off to the club’s anniversary year.

Updates on the playing side included news of the club’s age-group internationals and the success in the Academy Under-18 League.

The forum also met Tigers ticket and box office manager Stacey Wragg to air any questions on all aspects of the ticketing process, systems and future developments.

Points raised included increasing the awareness of the Online Ticket Hub, which allows season ticket holders to forward on their tickets to friends or family if they are unable to attend a match, as well as an insight into phoneline waiting times, season ticket benefits, away ticket allocation and future plans.

The club asked for the forum’s input looking ahead to Tigers Supporters Awards on May 1 at Welford Road. Members have the opportunity to make their nominations in each award category including Player of the Season, Newcomer and Outstanding Service.

The Tigers Family Award also recognises individuals who show a special commitment to the club, the game of rugby and other supporters, reflecting the club’s fan base and links with the community. This award category is open to all fans. To put forward a nomination, please email [email protected]

The shortlist in all categories will be compiled and published soon.

The supporters’ forum meets six times each season to discuss issues and events at Welford Road.
