Thompson nominated for Premiership April award

Fans can have their say in who is named Gallagher Premiership Rugby Player of the Month for April, with Leicester Tigers back-rower Guy Thompson among the nominations.

It has been one of the most intriguing and competitive seasons ever and the excitement was evident throughout April, with a number of individuals standing out for their clubs, leading to a final shortlist of 12 being named:

Josh Adams (Worcester Warriors)

John Afoa (Bristol Bears)

Mike Brown (Harlequins)

Alex Goode (Saracens)

Francois Hougaard (Worcester Warriors)

Sam Lewis (Worcester Warriors)

Ben Morgan (Gloucester Rugby)

Cobus Reinach (Northampton Saints)

Ben Spencer (Saracens)

Harry Thacker (Bristol Bears)

Guy Thompson (Leicester Tigers)

Duncan Weir (Worcester Warriors)

It is becoming harder than ever to pick one star performer each month, which is why voting has been opened to the public on the official Premiership Rugby app this season.

The usual panel of nine judges remain – Nick Mullins and Alastair Eykyn (BT Sport), Mick Cleary (Daily Telegraph), Sarah Mockford (Rugby World), Jonny Fordham (The Sun), Robert Kitson (Guardian), Chris Jones (BBC 5 Live), David Rogers (Getty Images) and Tom Hamilton (ESPN) and Paul Morgan (Premiership Rugby) as chair – but this season the public will act as a 10th judge.

Your vote and those from the other nine judges will then be tallied to reveal the winner.

Voting closing at 5pm today (Friday) so get voting on the official Premiership Rugby app. Access the Polls section in the More menu tab and get voting!
