Leicester Tigers took on London Irish in the 1980 John Player Cup final in front of more than 27,000 fans at Twickenham.
The 21-9 victory included 15 points from the boot of Dusty Hare, with four penalty goals and a drop-goal for the Tigers fullback.
Fly-half Les Cusworth added six points with two drop-goals, to help Leicester to back-to-back Cup wins and set up the possibility for three straight - in 1981 - which would see the Tigers create history and retain the cup, of which stands proudly on show at Welford Road to this day.
