Tigers duo named in Wallabies touring party

Leicester Tigers duo Matt Toomua and Tatafu Polota-Nau have been named in the Wallabies squad to tour South Africa and Argentina for the final rounds of this season's Rugby Championship.

The pair have featured in every match so far for Australia in the Southern Hemisphere competition, with both starting the most recent two games against the Springboks and Pumas at home.

Australia lost their opening two games of this year's tournament to New Zealand before beating South Africa in Round 3 and going down in a nail-biting fixture on the Gold Coast to Argentina last weekend.

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika says the final rounds offer a chance for the squad to repay the faith of supporters.

"There’s an opportunity presented to us now to get some good victories overseas and that’s going to come from consistency in the way that we play," he said.

"We’re very determined to make sure that we repay the faith and show people what we’re about in the way we play."

Australia travel to South Africa first for the clash with the Springboks at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, September 29 before a final fixture in Argentina against the Pumas on Saturday, October 6 at Padre Ernesto Martearena Stadium.
