Tigers hooker Stevens heading to Prima Tiger Cup

Leicester Tigers hooker and academy graduate Jimmy Stevens will be heading to Mellish rugby club this Sunday, October 28 to join in the latest Prima Tiger Cup festival.

Over the last month, Tigers have hosted three festivals across the UK in Norfolk, Leicestershire and Staffordshire for under-10 youth teams to participate in.

This weekend’s is the final festival ‘on the road’ before Tigers hosts a series of festivals at Welford Road on matchdays for selected teams to be invited back to take part in.

Stevens made his Tigers debut back in 2012 coming through the club’s academy system. After stints at London Irish and Nottingham, Jimmy returned to Tigers at the start of the 2017/18 season and is sponsored by TigersLotto.

The Prima Tiger Cup has been running for 25 years and is supported by Prima Solutions of Loughborough. Teams taking part in this weekend’s festival include hosts Mellish, Ilkston, Boston, Market Rasen and Louth, Syston, Kesteven, Nottingham Corsairs, Newark, Melton Mowbray and Lincoln rugby clubs.

The Prima Tiger Cup is the largest single-age festival of its kind and rewards teams across a number of disciplines including rugby, sportsmanship, support and wider rugby values.

Jimmy will be cheering on youngsters, sharing advice and posing for photos with young players.

Keep an eye out on Tigers social media channels for updates from this Sunday, and don’t forget to share your snaps using #TigersFamily if you’re heading to Mellish.
