Tigers wheelchair rugby star supported by TigersLotto

TigersLotto is this year supporting the Leicester Tigers wheelchair rugby team by helping to fund a bespoke wheelchair for player Gavin Walker

A former firefighter, Walker played an integral part in the club’s league-winning side this season as Tigers were named BT Super Series Division One champions for the first time.

He’s also represented Great Britain in European, World and Paralympic tournaments.

The funds will go towards a high-spec wheelchair for Gavin and ensure the club can continue to develop and build on this season’s achievements.

Robin Tarr, chairman of Tigers wheelchair team, said of Gavin: “Gavin is a versatile member of our team and his influence within our club is not limited to his skills on court.

“I have nothing but praise for Gavin - he shows strong leadership skills, which reflects his position as the Great Britain vice-captain and is the backbone of the club both on and off the court.

“Gavin has also helped raise the profile of our club through his participation in promotional and charitable events in conjunction with the Leicester Tigers Foundation.”

The donation is also supported by Leicestershire Fire Service, the Spinal Injury Association and ESF events.

TigersLotto helps support community projects alongside the work of the Tigers Foundation and the club’s academy teams.

Fans can simply sign up for just £1 a week and be in with a chance of winning cash and money-can’t-buy experiences.
