Tigers Wheelchair Rugby team up with Häfele

Leicester Tigers wheelchair rugby team will be sponsored by club partner and furniture fittings specialists Häfele for the next three seasons.

The partnership, which begins at the start of the new rugby season in September, will see Häfele become the wheelchair rugby team’s main partners.

Since being established in 2014, the Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby Team has grown into one of the sport’s most competitive teams.

The team were crowned champions of the BT Super Series Division One for the first time in the club’s history last season with four Tigers players – Nick Cummins, Gavin Walker, Muhammad Islam and Jamie Stead - and also featuring in this summer’s World Championships tournament in Sydney, Australia.

Häfele’s partnership with Leicester Tigers has seen the branding of the control tower, known as ‘The Cube’, at Tigers’ 25,849 capacity home ground at Welford Road. As part of this partnership, Häfele will also have use of a matchday hospitality box, which has been refurbished to become one-of-a-kind.

The matchday box has been specially designed using Häfele products to showcase how versatile a space can be; one of the company’s key specialisms.

Häfele is an internationally-trusted specialist in innovative furniture fittings, accessories, ironmongery and hardware. Established in Germany in 1923, the company now has a presence spanning the globe and offers a range of over 25,000 products.

Becci Pell, Marketing Communications Manager at Häfele comments: “We’re incredibly proud and excited to be sponsoring such an extraordinary wheelchair rugby team.

"As part of our specialism in architectural hardware and engineering solutions, we are committed to offering products that improve accessibility for all so the partnership is a natural fit.  We look forward to using our experience to help the team build upon their already phenomenal success.”
