The Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Team cemented their place at the top of the division with a 100 per cent record at the latest Coloplast Super Series event.

The Tigers team won all five of their games in the second league meeting of the season at De Montfort University’s Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre in Leicester.

It followed their five wins from five on the opening weekend of the competition in October.

Tigers kicked off their latest weekend of fixtures with 74-31 win against Plymouth-based West Country Hawks. They followed it up with a 61-37 victory against the South Wales Pirates of Cardiff.

And Tigers ended Saturday with a 55-44 win against the Sharks, based at Southampton Solent University.

Sunday kicked off for the Tigers team with a 67-15 victory over the Hammerheads, the Sharks’ development squad.

And a fine weekend’s work concluded with a 57-24 win against the Glasgow-based Caledonian Crushers.

The results leave Tigers top of Coloplast Super Series Division 2 on 30 points, ahead of South Wales Pirates and Team Solent Sharks, who both have 24 points.

The final round of fixtures take place at Leicester’s De Montfort University on the weekend of March 29 and 30.

The Tigers team train at De Montfort University's Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Sports Centre in Leicester on Fridays from 12.30pm-3.30pm.

Anyone interested in training, becoming a player or becoming part of the volunteer staff are more than welcome. For more information email Gavin Walker at  [email protected]

A second session is held on Wednesday evenings (7pm-10pm) at the Lee Westwood Leisure Centre, Nottingham Trent Clifton Campus.
