The Shortlist
Dan Kelly, Interception (v Saracens)

What a way for the young centre to start a crucial home game!

It all began from an early Saracens scrum, Kelly astutely reading the set piece play, darting in to claim Owen Farrell's miss pass to his outside centre.

From there, with the crowd in the TradeView Markets stand visibly rising to their feet in unison, he puts on the afterburners and has the pace to make it all the way to the end, diving over in spectacular style to claim the match's opening score.

The Defensive Press (v Saracens)

From the opening minutes of the match to the crucial closing stages, this Try-umph saw the Tigers go hunting deep into Saracens territory.

With the game in the balance and the home side ahead, Jamie Shillcock leads the charge here; following a clearance, the substitute spins the recieving Saracen, dragging play back further to the visitors whitewash.

Although Saracens get the ball away, Ollie Chessum completes the press, covering the right touchline and dragging the opposing flanker into touch on Saracens' 22 to huge cheers from Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

Ollie Hassell-Collins, Breaking the Line (v Harlequins)

Our final nomination for January came from another key win in the Gallagher Premiership, this time from a Friday Night Lights victory at the Twickenham Stoop.

In a storming first half from Tigers, the pick of the bunch came from flyer Hassell-Collins, almost scoring an absolute wonder try from just inside the 'Quins half.

Spotting the gap in the line, the wing races through, accelerating rapidly to make it just a couple of metres short of the line, chased down by three home players haring back to make the tackle before being hauled down, setting the tone for a hard-fought win.
