Leicester Tigers will host a women’s trial game at Mattioli Woods Welford Road this Saturday with entry via donation to the club’s women’s and girls’ rugby programme.

This game features two teams of invited players –Leicester Tigers Home and Leicester Tigers Change in reference to each team’s kit – as part of the women’s and girls’ programme launched this season with the aim of growing the game and its appeal across the region.

Kick-off is at 12.30pm and all supporters will be accommodated in the North Stand.

Entry is at Gate 1 (in the corner where North Stand and Beehive Money Stand meet) from 11.30am.

There are bar and food options in Final Whistle and the Tigers Club Shop in the Beehive Money Stand will be open until 4.00pm as normal.

If you are not travelling to watch Tigers in Gallagher Premiership action at London Irish, this is the perfect way to show support for the club and its newest recruits. We look forward to seeing you.

This is the next step in the Tigers women’s and girls’ rugby programme after welcoming players and supporters from a number of local clubs for Saturday’s Gallagher Premiership fixture against Saracens.

An 18,000-strong crowd at Mattioli Woods Welford Road included women’s and girls’ groups from Ashby, Coalville, Hinckley, Leicester Forest, Lutterworth, Market Bosworth, Market Harborough, Melbourne, Melton Mowbray, Norwich, Oadby Wyggestonian and Oakham rugby clubs as well as Lichfield Ladies who are working with the support of Tigers coaches Vicky Macqueen and Heather Fisher.

Also, the Tigers Rugby Camp schedule for this month includes three girls-only coaching camps – at Market Harborough RUFC (October 19-20), Hinckley RFC (October 21-22) and Lichfield RFC (October 28-29) – for players of all abilities in under-13, under-15 and under-18 age groups.
