All this week, we’re telling the stories of Leicester Tigers season ticket holders from around the stadium.
Following on from Chris and Polly Richardson in The Robin Hood Stand, let’s hear from four friends who stand on the iconic Tigers terrace.
Amanda is the latest recruit to a group of friends from North Leicestershire – alongside Karen, Sherry and another Karen – who take their places on the Breedon Terrace for every home game.
Between them, they’ve witnessed some of Welford Road’s greatest moments over the last 20 years.
And, according to them, there’s no better place to watch it all than being in amongst the crowds in front of the South Stand.
“The atmosphere here is fantastic – you are so close to the action, you can almost smell the deep heat on the players,” they explain.
“We have made lots of friends here on the terraces, so it’s always great to see familiar faces as well as welcome more to the family.”
Amanda is the newest season ticket holder in the group, having joined her friends three seasons ago.
She says: “The girls always talked about how good a time they would have and I’ve always known about Tigers.
“They convinced me to come along, and I’ve loved it ever since.”
