NBS Tag Rugby Maths Challenge Week 2

The Tigers Community is looking to continue support of primary school children and their families thanks to club partners at The Nottingham Building Society with new maths-themed activities online.

The NBS TAG Rugby programme in schools offers a mix of TAG rugby fun and classroom numeracy skills to Years 3 and 4, and although we cannot attend in person, we have come up with some plans to maintain interaction.

Each week, we will be producing rugby-themed Maths activities to try at home so you can take up NBS Tag Rugby Maths Challenge.

These are meant to be fun, they are not a test, so go on, give them a go!

Working in the Leicestershire schools, Tigers’ NBS development officers bring a high-intensity fun and physical activity programme which introduces young people to the game of rugby in a safe and easily managed format.

The input from Tigers is there to support the great work of schools and their teachers, and while lockdown has hit hard and schools closed, we are still determined to do what we can to support remote learning and give parents and young children some different challenges to help their personal development at home.

The NBS Tag Rugby programme is designed to deliver 4-5 weeks of rugby activity and finish with a Tigers rugby-themed numeracy lesson to use the enthusiasm for the game to assist schools in bringing numbers to life.

But even without visits to schools, Tigers are supporting a weekly NBS Numeracy Challenge for primary school children who want to do a bit of research and have a go at the problems set by our own NBS education manager, David McDonald.

Give it a go and take up the NBS Tag Rugby Maths Challenge.

The Tigers community team is still keen to book and confirm as many schools as possible for the summer term where we hope everyone will be able to join in the fun and challenge of NBS TAG Rugby. To find out more, email [email protected]
