Poole won the vote among Leicester Mercury readers to fill the second lock position in the Walk of Legends ahead of Ben Kay, Malcolm Foulkes-Arnold and Fritz van Heerden.
It reunites Poole with Johnson, with whom he shared a second-row partnership at Tigers for eight seasons.
Poole said: "It's been many years since we played together but it's always an honour to be alongside Johnno. I don't think either of us will be rushing to get out on the field."
He added: "It is an honour and a privilege to have been picked in the Tigers Legends XV - clearly my mum has been very busy voting for me!
"It was an honour to be nominated and now to take a place in what looks like an incredible line-up.
"Having said that, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Ben Kay and his exploits in the second row for the club over recent seasons. My only conclusion must be that the people of Leicester are very much voting for retired players as opposed to those who are still playing."
Poole joins Dusty Hare, Rory Underwood, Sir Clive Woodward, Paul Dodge, John Duggan, Bleddyn Jones, Austin Healey, Graham Rowntree, Peter Wheeler, Steve Redfern and Johnson in the Walk of Legends.
And Poole said that one of his first names would have been Darren Garforth.
"One of the first names I would have picked from my time as a player would have been Darren Garforth," he said.
"Unfortunately he didn't make it but he is my idea of a true club man as well as a great player.
"There are some great names in that Legends XV. With the back row to follow, Dean Richards would be the obvious choice, but I hope Cozza gives him a run for his money."
