Rio recreated at Tigers in The Park

Figure image
After a memorable Olympic Games for British athletes this summer, we are recreating some of the magic of Brazil with a Rio Carnival for Tigers In The Park.

A free event with entertainment and activities for the whole family from 11am right up to kick-off at 3pm, Tigers In The Park kickstarts a new season for the Leicester Tigers at the first home game of the league campaign, against Wasps on Saturday, September 10.

Based on Nelson Mandela Park opposite the stadium and on the plaza at Welford Road, Tigers In The Park this year features an 'Olympic Park' area with tennis, archery, tag rugby and Leicester Tigers Wheelchair Rugby, all running masterclasses and demonstrations, and a chance for supporters to get involved. We will also be joined by Leicester Fencing and The Gym Group.

As well as all of our sporting activities, we’re creating our own beach in the Copacabana Area with inflatable beach volleyball and surf simulator plus bouncy castle, inflatable slide and obstacle course.

The Samba Stage features live music from The Ellipsis and our Battle of the Bands winners Dynamite Dynamite, plus The Black Eagles, Samba band Sambando and Original Movements Dance Group with their Rio Carnival performance.

There is a fans’ food court for picnics in the park and more activities in the Junior Tigers Club and the plaza outside the stadium.

Tickets for Tigers versus Wasps are available now. Book in person at Welford Road, phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2) or click here to book online and welcome the Tigers home for the start of the season!
